ARTIST PROFILE

Randy Shelley was born in Denver, Colorado in 1957. He started drawing cartoons, as well as oil paintings at an early age. He moved to Arizona in 1972.

He has visited many Colorado Ghost Towns/semi-Ghost Towns in the 1960's, including Central City, Georgetown, Idaho Springs, Ward, Blackhawk, Crystal City, Como, Silver Plume, Leadville, Fairplay, and Rollins Pass. Ghost Towns/semi-Ghost Towns in Arizona that he has visited include Johnson, Russellville, Courtland, Pierce, Tombstone, Dos Cabezas, Swansea, Harqua Hala, Bradshaw City, Jerome, and Helvetia, as well as others. Ghost Town areas are also found in Nevada, California, and New Mexico.

He started collecting materials from different ghost town dump sites about 21 years ago with the idea of trying to make use of the discarded items from the past. He still has the original piece that was produced in 1983. (You can see this as tag #1 in the Gallery.

In 1998 his Ghost Towns were on display at the "End Of Trail" Cowboy Action Shooting Event and he was interviewed by TNN television. Although he was hoping to have his works televised nation wide, it did not make the final edit for "The American Shooter" program. Since that time he has been approached by film makers to construct various buildings for film sets. He has been fortunate to meet many celebrities along the way.

He has put thousands of hours in his Ghost Town projects. Randy was blessed with the ability to build almost anything. If you have a special project, a specific building or set of buildings you would like to request, please complete the email form for a quote. If you would like us to contact you by telephone, please include your phone number and area code in the email.

Hope you enjoy the gallery, and happy ghosttowning.
